There are approximately 3.4 million adults age 40 and older in the United States with vision impairment or blindness. More than 39,000 of those adults live in Kansas. Unfortunately, many people ignore the early signs of vision loss. Even mild visual impairments can significantly reduce daily activities like driving, reading, school and work.
With proper examination and care, there is hope. Low vision examination and rehabilitation can improve visual function and restore independence.
